Day of Service: Serving Those Who Served

November 14, 2025

Honoring All Who Served - Supporting Your Smile, November 14, 2025

Rooted in Duty, Delivered Through Care

On November 14th, Naples Dental Boutique and our partners came together for more than a day of dentistry. What we witnessed was a level of trust, humility, and gratitude that reminded everyone in the building why service still matters. What began as a fundraising commitment at our grand opening became a coordinated, high-impact Day of Service for 32 Army Reservists and Disabled Veterans across Southwest Florida.

How This Mission Started

When we transitioned to our new location in March 2025, we made a simple but meaningful promise: our doors would remain open to Florida's wounded veterans. Florida is home to more than 1.5 million veterans, yet only about 15% qualify for dental care through the VA, leaving an overwhelming number without access to essential treatment.

Many veterans had postponed care for years. Some lost access when they left service. And for many reservists, needed treatment had been denied because it was deemed "cosmetic" — like fractured front teeth, worn or missing restorations, or chronic inflammation around old dental work. In reality, these conditions often progress into infection, bone loss, bite collapse, and significant functional limitations once they're out of uniform.

Organizations such as the Wounded Veterans Relief Fund help narrow that gap by providing financial assistance and resources for veterans in urgent need. Earlier this year, we partnered with WVRF on fundraising efforts, and that collaboration continued into the Day of Service. They provided support for a number of disabled veterans, while the vast majority of care was delivered entirely pro bono, donated by our team and the specialists who volunteered their time, skill, and resources.

To meet the true scale of the need, we built an event designed to deliver meaningful impact — a coordinated effort by specialists, surgeons, anesthetists, and industry partners working together as one unified team.

Building a Coalition of Providers & Industry Partners

One of the defining strengths of this event was the caliber of the clinical partners who stepped forward. Many rearranged surgical blocks or adjusted practice schedules so they could be here.

The 2025 Provider Coalition included:

  • Dr. Kevin Kunz – Endodontist, U.S. Air Force Veteran
  • Dr. Miguel Jusino – Periodontist, U.S. Army Veteran
  • Dr. John Contino, Dr. Daniel Winokur, Dr. Eric Reed – Oral & Maxillofacial Surgeons
  • Gregory Buck, CRNA & John Recwinkle, CRNA – Nurse Anesthetists
  • Dr. Hemita Klose – General Dentistry, Naples Dental Boutique

Behind them stood a second critical layer of support: the industry partners who supplied the materials, technology, and equipment needed to deliver advanced treatment at scale. Companies such as Biohorizons, Ivoclar, Sprintray, 3M, Voco, Henry Schein, and others provided the implants, digital workflow systems, restorative materials, surgical supplies, and same-day crown technology essential to modern comprehensive care.

Their contributions didn't just supplement the work — they enabled it. Without this level of material and equipment support, we would not have been able to complete same-day crowns, place implant-supported solutions, perform surgical interventions, or restore teeth with the precision and durability these veterans deserved.

"Their experience and network gave me the right path for my treatment." — Ibrahim, U.S. Army

This was not a small volunteer event. It was a coordinated operation across practices, disciplines, and supply chains — similar in scale to a military mission, executed with dental equipment instead of gear. The precision, tempo, and teamwork were unmistakable from the moment the day began.

What We Delivered

The day ran continuously, and every chair stayed active. By the end of the event, more than $100,000 in comprehensive care had been provided, including:

  • Comprehensive exams and diagnostics
  • Digital treatment planning
  • Periodontal therapy (surgical and non-surgical)
  • Endodontic treatment
  • Extractions and surgical interventions
  • Same-day crowns using advanced digital workflows
  • Dental implant placement
  • Sedation for qualifying cases
  • Follow-up care plans for ongoing treatment

Every veteran left with completed care — not temporary fixes — and a clear, sustainable path forward for their next phase of treatment.

The Human Impact

Veteran interview at the Day of Service

The clinical work happened that day, but the conversations will stay with us. Between procedures, veterans shared stories — deployments that stretched them thin, family responsibilities they carried quietly, years of putting their own health last, and the challenges of navigating care after service.

"Every single person treated me with genuine kindness, respect, and warmth. Not just as a patient, but as a person." — Rosemary, Army Reservist

Another veteran captured the day in just a few words: "It was one of the most impactful experiences I've ever had."

Moments like these reflect the true purpose of this event — and why it will continue.

In the coming weeks, we'll be sharing short interviews with several of the veterans we treated, faces and stories that reveal the real weight and meaning behind this mission.

Why This Event Matters Long-Term

This Day of Service wasn't a one-off initiative. It's the foundation of an annual effort — one we intend to scale and refine each year.

Our priorities for 2026:

  • Expanded Treatment Capacity — More surgical hours, more clinical support, and greater restorative availability.
  • Additional Partnerships — More specialists, more companies, and more sponsors committed to serving veterans.
  • Wider Outreach — Collaborating with WVRF and community organizations to reach veterans with the greatest need.
  • Impact Tracking — Building year-over-year data to measure clinical, financial, and community outcomes.
  • A Sustainable Model — A repeatable, well-resourced annual Day of Service that grows with demand.

Our guiding belief is simple: If you have the skill to help and the capacity to serve, you carry the responsibility to act.

Gratitude

This event was possible because of the many people and organizations who chose to show up when it mattered.

Our sincere thanks to:

  • Clinical partners who contributed their time, expertise, and compassion
  • Industry sponsors who provided the materials and technology that made advanced care possible
  • The Wounded Veterans Relief Fund for their partnership and support
  • Our community supporters, including Perry Hotel Naples and Naples Lifestyle Magazine
  • And most importantly — the 32 veterans who trusted us with their care

"Receiving high-quality dental care at no charge is something I will never forget." — Veteran, Day of Service Participant

We look forward to building something even bigger in 2026.
